Don Giesmann
Pastor
Don was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has pastored different churches including in Fostoria, OH and here at St. John’s Church (since 2012).
He has two daughters and sons-in-law, including one daughter now in Heaven after having had cancer. He has seven grandchildren. He has served as a public school teacher, a youth director, associate pastor, and as Vice President of a family organization.He has served in various organizations including a Salvation Army board, Rotary, and on a college board.
One of Don’s favorite verses is Psalm 46:1, “God is our Refuge and Strength, a very present help in trouble.” He finds joy in knowing Jesus and sharing the Lord’s kindness with others. Don is excited to see all that the Lord is doing at St. John’s Church, the Nurturing Center, and at Elderlife.
Some of his favorite things are: reading, visiting historic places, sports, nautical things, doughnuts, frozen yogurt, and much more. While currently petless, the family has had many pets including Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs, dogs, cats, a parrot and more. He enjoys Toledo and the area very much.
